I’ve noticed quite critical quirk of Makerworld way of displaying models when casually browsing.
Default filtering when opening “3d Models” defaults to “trending” & “7days” - which wouldn’t be an issue if “7 days trending” meant all models trending in last 7 days. Instead of that we are getting trending models PUBLISHED in last 7 days. That results with drastic impact on model views/ downloads and prints moment that model hits 7day age. Once it hits that point it becomes virtually invisible for casual browsing
Solution:
- Bump 7 days to month as default, give bit more exposure to popular models
- Change time parameter from age of model to time when specific metric was counted. ie. Instead most downloaded 7days old model change to model most downloaded during last 7 days
