This cube is not a valid Maker world kit card as per the actual words in the contest details.
This cube does not magically become a Kit card simply because it is attached to a Card shape that could come “From greeting cards and invitations … informational brochures and product packaging”
This cube itself could not reasonably fit in the folds of a greeting card let alone come “From greeting cards and invitations … informational brochures and product packaging”
many of the entries in this contest likewise are not KIT CARDs as per this “Kit Card Design Contest”
This is not the Printables.com contest. Printables.com had their own rules that are worded differently and usefulness as a tool was not required in the Printables.com Kit Card contest you can read their rules for comparison here if you wish to…
https://www.printables.com/contest/392-kit-cards
The MakerWorld.com Kit Card Contest stated that…
“KIT CARDS ARE… VERSATILE TOOLS”
it did not say ‘maybe’, ‘might be’, ‘can be’, or ‘sometimes are’, no MakerWorld.com said kit cards “are” tools.
There is no exception clause to this absolute statement stipulated by MakerWorld.com that…
“Kit cards are more than just a toy for kids; they are versatile tools that combine aesthetics with functionality.”
so why are there so many MakerWorld.com KIt Card Contest entries, that can not reasonably be greeting cards or come “From greeting cards and invitations … informational brochures and product packaging” and are not tools at all, let alone versatile tools?
Top winner in the printables.com kit card contest was a battle droid figurine. Is MakerWorld.com really copying the kit card contest idea of pintables.com?
if so then what is the point of saying that “KIT CARDS ARE VERSATILE TOOLS”??? printables.com did not make such a restriction in their kit card contest.
Do you think MakerWorld.com is really going to give awards and prizes to popular entries in their Kit Card Contest even though winners do not satisfy the Kit Card Design Details set forth by MakerWorld.com? would’nt that be a betrayal to creators that spent time making a competitive entry guided by the words in the Kit Card Contest Design Details MakerWorld.com Provided for this contest?
Or
Do you think MakerWorld.com will Honor the Kit Card contestants who made Design choices with integrity to the Design Details set forth for by MakerWorld.com? and if that is the case do you think that some of the creators are copying Kit Card Ideas from Printables.com (many of which are nothing more than decorations, ornamental models, fashion accessories, games, model airplanes, figurines or otherwise nothing more than “Toys For Kids” ) that have no “Functional” “Purposes” as “Tools” at all? Do you think some of these creators are misusing the MakerWorld.com Contest to gain exposure for popular models that are irrelevant to this contest?
Do you think if the word tool was not in the design details of the MakerWorld.com Kit Card Contest we would see a “Lock Pick Kit Card” in this contest? I don’t. I didn’t find a “Lock Pick Kit Card” in the Printables.com kit card contest either.
model air planes, figurines, and other models that are not more than “Toys for Kids” are obviously more popular. so why would there be?
Do you think contest entries should still be judged by the Criteria of their Creativity, Originality, Visual Appeal, and Functionality. even if it has no practical functionality as a tool or is otherwise not really a Kit Card?
What are your thoughts?
