Just wanted to make the unaware aware of the current issue of mass model stealing going on currently. This applies not only to MakerWorld but Printables and Thingiverse as well. For those unaware there is a new model website called MakerOnline, which is essentially a clone of MakerWorld. I have no issue with it directly, as there are tons of places to get models these days. The issue lies in the fact that the current challenge competition going on gives incentive for mass uploading models. Due to this there are a few people on there stealing models from other websites and uploading them as their own creation under a different license. I know quite a few designers on here and other sites have put a lot of effort into their designs and models. So for someone to steal it and claim it is their own and potentially make a good chunk of money doing so; it is not right. So if you have any models you hold dear and feel you need the recognition you deserve for your models, then head over to MakerOnline and report your stolen models… Note: there are a few from other sites posting their stuff on there as well (including Makerworld users), this is completely fine, have to try to get the most out of their designs now that Makerworld killed all the incentives. The issue aligns with the mass uploaders that are obviously stealing designs and likely to profit from it. Report those models so the creators don’t loose their creations.
